Imagine listening to a podcast about Thailand and hearing someone talk about the beaches.
Now imagine the beach images appearing as they talk.
That is the simple idea behind what we are building for hotel websites.
The hotel text chatbot is dead because hotel booking is not a text-only decision.
If a guest asks about Ocean View rooms, they should not only get a text answer. They should see the room, understand the view and know what to do next.
Let the hotel website show the answer
At Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay, we are bringing voice and visuals together with Kalim, the hotel's Guest Envoy.
In the video below, I ask Kalim about ocean views, the spa, massage, special offers and direct booking savings.

The important thing is not just that Kalim answers.
The important thing is that Kalim can help the guest see what matters while the guest is still deciding.
Guests do not book from text alone
Hotel booking is visual.
A guest wants to know what the Ocean View room looks like. They want to understand the spa, the experience, the view, the offer and the feeling of the stay.
A text-only chatbot can answer a question, but it often leaves the guest with more work to do.
The guest still has to scroll. They still have to compare. They still have to find the right page.
Guest Envoy is different because the conversation can guide the guest and show useful hotel information at the same time.
Offers and loyalty need to appear at the right moment
One moment in the demo stood out to me.
Kalim mentioned the direct booking discount and also promoted Club Wyndham Asia member rates for extra savings.
That is powerful because loyalty and direct booking value often appear too late or sit somewhere the guest does not notice.
If the guest is already asking about rooms and offers, that is the right moment to explain the direct booking benefit.
Not as a banner. Not as another pop-up. As part of the conversation.
This is still early
Guests are not yet used to talking to a hotel website.
But they are already used to speaking into their phones, searching by voice and asking AI tools for help.
The hotel website is the next obvious place for that behavior to arrive.
When it does, hotels should not think only about chat. They should think about guidance.
What should the guest see?
What should they understand?
What direct booking path should they be guided toward?
Thanks to the Wyndham team
Special thanks to Dominic Egger and Emma Nattiya Sangkuttiya for helping make this vision real at Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay.
There is something useful here for direct bookings, loyalty and guest experience.
Guests should be able to ask naturally, see what matters and move toward booking with less friction.
That is what Kalim is starting to show.
